Necessary Materials

To make a unique Christmas card, you will need the following materials:

  • Various buttons in white;
  • Felt in black and orange colors;
  • Cardboard scraps measuring 12 X 9 cm;
  • Black beads;
  • White glue.

These items are easy to find, and many of them you may already have at home, lying around in drawers or craft boxes. By reusing these materials, you not only create something special, but you also contribute to a more sustainable Christmas.

Preparing the Card Base

Start by folding your cardstock in half to form the base of your card. This will be the main structure where you will add all of your details. Choose a piece of cardstock that is a neutral color to ensure that your decorative elements stand out.

Creating the Snowman

The first step to decorating your card is to use black felt to create a top hat. Cut the black felt into a top hat shape, which you will glue to the top of the card. Next, prepare the white buttons, starting with the largest one to make the base of the snowman.

Glue the largest white button to the bottom of the card. This will be the body of the snowman. On top of this button, glue a medium-sized white button to form the head. Add a small white button on top of the medium-sized button to complete the snowman's head.

Adding Details to the Snowman

To bring your snowman to life, glue the felt top hat to the top of the smaller button. Then add black beads to the holes in the smaller button to create the snowman's eyes.

Cut a small triangle out of the orange felt to make the snowman's nose and glue it onto the smaller button. These small details are essential to making the snowman recognizable and charming.

Finishing the Christmas Card

With all the elements glued and dried, your snowman-themed Christmas card is ready! Not only is this card a personalized work of art, but it’s also a sustainable and creative way to celebrate the holiday season.

Environmental Considerations

By choosing to create a Christmas card with recycled materials, you are making an environmentally conscious choice. Instead of using mass-produced cards that travel long distances and have a significant environmental impact, you are reusing materials and reducing waste.
